Day 1
Beautifully surrounded by 7 hills and seated on the Bac River Valley, the city of Chisinau has been recorded as a settlement for the first time in 1436. Known also as “the city made of white stone” Chisinau quickly evolved from a small market town to the administrative centre of Basarabia. Well-known architects and poets such as Bernardazzi, Sciusev or Pushkin gave Chisinau an unique character.

Day 2
The first half of today we shall meet the Gagauzian community - unique Orthodox people of Turkish-Gagauzian origin. After a two hours drive south of Chisinau we shall reach Besalma Village where its valuable museum of history and ethnography was founded in 1966 by the writer. The local museum guides will tell you with much passion about this small nation in the south of Moldova, they being the children of the museum founder D. Cara-Ciobanu.
Moldova is worldwide famous for its fine wines production, this is why a visit to a Moldovan cellar is a must. Particularly, Milestii Mici is one of the most famous Moldovan cellars. The natural wine deposit is one of the largest in the world. The wines stored here are made of various years' crops, beginning with 1968 to 1991.

Day 3
Mediaeval history of Moldova was a tormented one. A belt of stone fortresses built along Nistru, Prut and Danube rivers offered protection against foreign invasions such as those of Turks. Three hours drive north of Chisinau, near Nistru River, is Soroca fortress firstly built in wood by the order of Stephen the Great in 1499. It was rebuilt in stone during 1543-1546 on the shape one can see today and this is the only Moldovan mediaeval monument entirely preserved.
The succession of different cultures and civilizations on this territory is obvious in Old Orhei. Here, the Geto-Dacian fortification remains (5th to 3rd c. BC) stay near one of the Tartars capitals on their expansion to Western Europe. Visit the Orthodox cave monastery called "St. Maria Dormata" which was expanded and modified inside the cliffs by the monks over the centuries and preserved in a functional state.

Day 4
Today’s guided tour will show both the historic and modern faces of Chisinau. Stephen The Great Boulevard with administrative establishments like the Presidency, the Parliament, the Government, Municipal City Administration, cultural centers: National theatre “M. Eminescu”, Organ Hall, Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The historical zone has more than 700 houses from XIX c. arranged on the principle of closed housing estates, 18 old churches, including the “Cathedral”, modern governmental and public establishments. The museums located here, recall the atmosphere of the past centuries, especially The National Museum of History of Moldova.
