Itinerary:
Day One: Saturday Upon arrival at Malta International Airport you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure. (D)
Day Two: Sunday After breakfast at your hotel enjoy a half
day visit to the Blue Grotto. Balance of day at leisure. (B, D)
Day Three: Monday After breakfast, morning at leisure. In the afternoon enjoy a half-day Valletta City Tour, including a visit to the Upper Barracca Gardens overlooking the Grand Harbor, St. John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Palace. Lastly, enjoy the “Malta Experience,” a multi-vision show depicting Malta’s history throughout the ages. (B, D)
Day Four: Tuesday After breakfast, experience a full day Mdina/Rabat Tour. Visit Mdina, Malta’s “silent city,” the cathedral and St. Catald’s Catacombs. After lunch continue with a visit to the Mosta Dome, San Anton Botanical Gardens, and Ta‘ Qali Crafts Village. (B, L, D)
Day Five: Wednesday After breakfast, visist The Three Cities
- tour commences with a drive through Senglea, then to Cospicua and finally up to Vittoriosa. The city of Vittoriosa, known by the Maltese as Birgu, retains many interesting buildings including the early Auberges of the Knights, their hospital, the Armory, the Treasury and palaces connected with the Order's administration.
Return to hotel, lunch on your own. This afternoon
participate in a sensational harbor cruise sailing in a pleasure boat through the Grand Harbor and Marsamxett Harbor, with a running commentary on the history of Malta, and excellent photo opportunities. Balance of the day at leisure. (B, D)
Day Six: Thursday After breakfast, enjoy a full day Gozo Jeep Tour. Your tour includes a 25-minute ferry crossing to Malta’s sister island of Gozo, with wonderful photo opportunities along the way. A visit to the Ggantija Prehistoric Temples, The Citadel in Victoria, Xlendi Bay and Calypso’s Cave are all part of your tour. After lunch, enjoy time for shopping in the local markets. (B, L, D)
Day Seven: Friday After breakfast, transfer to Malta International Airport for your flight to Sicily. Upon arrival at Palermo International Airport transfer to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure. (B)
Day Eight: Saturday PALERMO: After breakfast, a day at leisure – free time to start exploring Palermo on your own. This evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail, orientation, dinner and overnight at your accommodation. (B, D)
Day Nine: Sunday PALERMO – SEGESTA – ERICE – TRAPANI – PALERMO: After a buffet breakfast, depart for Segesta to visit the Doric Temple, which keeps in its stone the weight of a long history, surrounded by a unique landscape. Lunch at a local restaurant in Erice, a medieval town full of myth and history, art and environment located at 800 meters above the sea. After lunch enjoy an orientation tour of Trapani’s salt-mills. Return to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at the Jolly Hotel Palermo. (B, L, D)
Day Ten: Monday PALERMO – CEFALU – CAPO D’ORLANDO – TINDARI – MESSINA: After a buffet breakfast, drive along the Tyrrhenian coast. Stop in Cefalù, a pleasant resort well known for its beautiful Norman Cathedral and medieval washhouse built in solid rock. Proceed to Capo d’Orlando for lunch in a panoramic restaurant just in front of a white sandy beach. Continue to Tindari to admire the magnificent view of the sand tongues. Continue to Messina. Dinner and overnight at the Jolly Hotel Messina. (B, L, D)
Day Eleven: Tuesday MESSINA - REGGIO DI CALABRIA – TAORMINA – MESSINA: After a buffet breakfast, sea conditions permitting, embark to Reggio di Calabria and visit the famous “Bronzi di Riace.” Return to Messina and lunch in the Jolly Hotel’s panoramic restaurant with a view of the Straits of Messina. In the afternoon depart to Taormina; visit the Greek Theater and enjoy time at leisure for shopping or walking through the tiny streets. Dine in a famous restaurant in the center of the town. Return to Messina and overnight at the Jolly Hotel Messina. (B, L, D)
Day Twelve: Wednesday MESSINA – MOUNT ETNA – SYRACUSE: After a buffet breakfast, meteorological conditions permitting, ascend to 1800 meters, on Mount Etna the highest active volcano in Europe. Proceed to Syracuse. Lunch at the Jolly Hotel. Visit the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of Paradise and the "Dionysus’ Ear” as well as a visit to the island of Ortigia, singular treasure of the Baroque style. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Jolly Hotel Syracuse. (B, L, D)
Day Thirteen: Thursday SYRACUSE – PIAZZA ARMERINA - AGRIGENTO: After a buffet breakfast, depart for Piazza Armerina and visit the world famous Villa Romana del Casale known for its well-preserved mosaics. Lunch in a typical restaurant and continue to Agrigento. Visit the Valley of the Temples, including the Temple of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor and Pollux. Dinner at the Jolly Hotel Della Valle. After dinner enjoy an unforgettable panoramic illuminations tour of the Valley of the Temples. Overnight in Agrigento. (B, L, D)
Day Fourteen: Friday AGRIGENTO – MONREALE – PALERMO: After a buffet breakfast depart for Palermo stopping in Monreale with a visit to the “Duomo” (Cathedral), one of the most renowned monuments in the world, as well as the Benedictine Cloister, built in pure Norman style. Lunch at the Jolly Hotel. In the afternoon visit the city of Palermo including the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel in the Royal Palace and a panoramic tour of the historical center. A Farewell Dinner and overnight accommodation at the Jolly Hotel Palermo await you. (B, L, D)
Day Fifteen: Saturday: After a buffet breakfast, transfer to Palermo International Airport for departure flight home. End of your tour. (B)
